Who we are:
A group of people who have lost a baby at some point in our lives.
Why we meet:
We meet together in order to gain some help and support and perhaps a new perspective on what has happened. We aim to provide a safe place where people talk, listen and also make new friends.
When/where do we meet:
Once a month from 7pm to 9pm at the Children's Centre, Damers Road Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester, DT1 2JY. The entrance to the room is directly from the car park, through the patio doors to the left of the main entrance. There is no charge for parking.
For dates and any further information:
Please call us on the above telephone number, leave a message and we will call you back, or email us as above.
About the group:
- We aim to provide a safe place where people can share their experiences and support one another
- Everyone has a chance to talk with help from the group leaders - Kathy and Lyn - who are midwives. Sometimes you may not want to talk much and just listen which is also ok. You can go at your own pace.
- You may want to meet one of us first so that you feel more relaxed about coming to the group. Let us know if you would like this opportunity.
- Some people come regularly for a while, others just come once or twice. Either is ok with us - it's whatever suits you. Your needs are important.
- We believe that no one person's loss is greater than another's.
- It is suitable for people who have lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy, for whatever reason, as well as after birth or in the early months/years.
- It is suitable for those who have lost a baby with abnormalities through medical termination of pregnancy or still birth.
- It is for anyone who can cope with being in a group situation.
