The Preceptorship Programme

As a newly qualified lower band 5 staff member of the following groups, you will benefit from our Preceptorship Programme

Nurses
Dietitians
Occupational Therapists
Operating Department Practitioners
Pharmacists
Physiotherapists
Radiographers

The programme consists of clinical area-based support system, where you will be assigned a mentor, or 'preceptor' (an experienced practitioner who acts as a role model and provides support).

You will attend a series of study days designed to support you in your clinical work.

You will need to complete a competency tool (a framework to transfer theoretical knowledge into practical skills).

The programme is linked to pay progression.
