Department of Radiology

Welcome to the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Radiology web pages.

The Department of Radiology at our hospital has a large team of dedicated and experienced radiologists, radiographers, nurses, friendly support and administration staff and state-of-the-art machinery, working together to provide you with the very best of imaging services.
Our department caters to the needs of NHS patients predominantly from the West Dorset population of about 220,000. In addition to the main department at Dorchester we have satellite departments at: Weymouth, Portland, Blandford, Bridport and Sherborne.

Much work goes into enhancing the quality of services available and also into introducing new services. We use PACS - Picture Archiving and Communication System - that allows storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images, enabling doctors to rapidly report on your image wherever they are.
