Free hot drink! Come to Dorset County Hospital on public transport (bus or train) and we'll give you a free hot beverage to say thank you for choosing a green travel option. Produce your ticket at Damers Restaurant or the Terrace Cafe to claim your free drink.
If you're referred to hospital or other NHS premises for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by a doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional, you may be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS). Read more here.

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak we are not accepting cash in our parking machines. Anyone wishing to park should use our DCH parking app (details below). If you have any queries or problems please contact the Transport Office on 01305 255688 or email@example.com
We have launched a DCH parking app to give patients and visitors, and staff who pay daily, an alternative to using cash in the parking machines.
The app is called 'PayByPhone' and you can download it on your phone from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Please note that the app charges 10p for the convenience of using it each time. It also charges for SMS messages but you can turn off that notification function. You can also pay online at https://paybyphone.co.uk or call 0330 060 4255. For more information please visit https://park.paybyphone.com/dorsetnhs/
· Download the 'PayByPhone Parking' app via your app store in the usual way
· You can then register to set up an account
· There is an option to receive SMS receipts and reminders when registering but please note there is an additional charge for this service of 10p
· In the 'search by location number' box type '802360' for public charges or '802362' for DCH staff charges so you can get the staff daily rate. Please note, DCH staff must still display their staff permit.
· Add your vehicle – you can add the number plate, vehicle type and an optional description
If you have any queries or problems using the app please contact the Transport Office on 01305 255688 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The arrangements for parking concessions at Dorset County Hospital have been reviewed and consolidated to ensure they are consistently and fairly applied for all eligible patients and visitors.
We have developed a range of parking concessions over the years to allow some public users of the car parks free parking or reduced charges. Unfortunately these concessions have not always been applied consistently by all departments due to confusion over what is available.
Hospital governors called for a review of the concessions to ensure people were able to more easily access what they are entitled to, so a comprehensive review has taken place and concessions will now be consistently applied from 14 October 2019.
The new system has been simplified so it is easier to understand and manage and can be administered fairly and consistently.
The concession permits available are outlined below. Patients and visitors who are entitled to parking concessions should ask the department they are visiting for a concession form to enable them to get a permit to display in their vehicle from the main hospital reception desk in North Wing or switchboard. You can also download a concession form for printing here. Please contact the Transport Office with any queries on Ext 5688 or email@example.com
